Francine “The Lucid Dream” is a singer, burlesque performer and producer of The Pink Room: David Lynch Burlesque, Francine’s Pink Room, Franny’s FLICKS & co-producer of Take Back the 80s Burlesque. Francine started her career on the stage of the Slipper Room and has since taken New York City by storm performing at numerous venues including The Highline Ballroom, (le) Poisson Rouge & Duane Park. She has also performed at festivals around North America: The Dallas Burlesque Festival, The Windy City Burlesque Festival, the Great Boston Burlesque Expo, The Toronto Burlesque Festival, The New York Burlesque Festival as well as in Angie Pontani’s Burlesque-a-Pades. Francine has had the honor of performing with comedians Colin Quinn & Horatio Sanz and entertaining such notables as Lady Gaga, Donatella Versace, Kate Upton, Joaquin Phoenix & Jeremy Renner!
The Villager calls Francine an “Irrepressible burlesque gal about town.” The Daily News referred to her as a “Lynchian Lovely.” While talking to Bobbie Thomas on the Today show, Savannah Guthrie honored Francine by saying she was “Brave enough to speak out in a bra”! For Francine’s performances at The Pink Room Burlesque event Rolling Stone Italia acknowledged that “David Lynch would love” her. Among the many things that Time Out New York has said about Francine, they have called her: the “Lynch Lady, the force behind The Pink Room Burlesque, a strange and wonderful attraction.” a “Nerdlesque all-star“ and that “This singer-dancer is an alum of the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre, and injects plenty of humor into her performances.”
Francine has always had a passion for the silver screen. She portrayed a 1920s burlesque performer in James Gray’s film, The Immigrant, starring Joaquin Phoenix, Marion Cotillard & Jeremy Renner. It premiered at the Cannes Film Festival, with a North American debut at the New York Film Festival – look for Francine as “The Cossack” in The Immigrant in a theater near you in 2014! Also, keep your eyes peeled for Francine on the small screen as Evelyn in Steven Soderbergh’s The Knick, set to premiere on Cinemax in 2014!
